Online Tashilul Qur’an Class

Making the Holy Qur’ān Easy to Read Report by: Mr Aman Khan

Introduction:

National Talimul Qur’an & Waqfe Arzi Department UK is responsible for promoting, learning and teaching of the Holy Qur’an amongst Ahmadiyya Muslim community members. On the special instructions of our beloved Imam Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah assist him) in 2004 we started a National Talimul Qur’an class to train teachers who learn the Holy Qur’an with correct pronunciation and then teach in their respective Jama’ats.  There was an importunate need and request from parents to start special Talimul Qur’an classes for children. To resolve this very issue, we planned to start an online Tashilul Qur’an class to cater the need of wider community.

Admission:

We launched this online Tashilul Qur’an course on 20th February 2017 and invited the parents to apply on behalf of their children. A special info poster and parents’ Guide was prepared and sent through WhatsApp and Email for a quick and easy reach out. We advertised 100 places for children from age 7 to 15 years old on a First come first serve basis. The response from the parents was overwhelming and by the closing date we received 416 applications from 110 Jama’ats to take part in this unique online course. Due to the limited resources, we only managed to enrol 210 students from 98 Jama’ats in three different groups

G1 Class: Comprised of students age group 7-15 who have not started the Holy Qur’an yet.

G2 Class: Comprised of students age group 7-12 who have completed their first recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

G3 Class: Comprised of students age group 13-15 who have completed their first recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

Inauguration:

Respected Amir sahib UK Mr Rafiq Ahmad Hayat inaugurated the first online Tashilul Qur’an class on 16th March 2017. In his video recorded message played during the opening class, he said; “….So I am very pleased Alhamdolilah that the parents are taking special interest in this class and that this class will Insha’Allah be very beneficial to all of our families and the children. I would like to congratulate to all those parents who have made this initiative to take part in this class. May Allah, bless you all. I would like to thank secretary Talimul Qur’an and his team for the excellent job they are doing in particular for starting this online class for the members of Jama’at. May Allah bless them all”. Ameen

Course Period/Duration:

Course Material:

A special structured course material was prepared for each group and pdf copies were made available for all parents to download from the Talimul Qur’an website. These easy to learn lessons were prepared to teach children with a view to extirpate most common recitational errors supported with extensive practice exercises.

 Teaching Panel:

We hold our National Tarteelul Qur’an class every year which is comprised of 6 days’ taught course. At the end of 2017 class the students who achieved more than 90% in their course were selected for Tashilul Qur’an Teaching panel. By the Grace of Allah, 8 teachers were shortlisted to teach online Tashilul Qur’an class under the supervision of Hafiz Fazle Rabbi, National secretary of Talimul Qur’an and Waqfe Arzi UK.  All teachers worked very hard and provided excellent Qur’an learning environment for around 200 children from dispersed background. It was very encouraging to see how all teachers interacted with the children in a most friendly and professional manner.

Attendance Monitoring system:

As we all know that the regular attendance is the primary key towards the learning of a child. We devised a system to closely monitor the attendance of each child. A full report of attendance as well as participation (Time spent in the class) was sent to all parents every 4 weeks. All students who achieved 100% attendance and participation will be awarded special prizes and certificates of Achievement.
